Sherwood Seniors

These two sessions were a week apart. The first was Morgan's. I chose Jenkins Estate as the location. Can't go wrong there. Morgan and her Mom, Christine, were a blast to work with!
Laura chose Stella Olsen park in Sherwood for her session. Since I'm a Sherwood resident, I'm very familiar with the park. She was laid-back and easy to work with. We used the boardwalk for much of the session, moving to the grassy area near the water for the last part.

Waterfront Senior Session

We had originally planned on shooting at a park in Hillsboro, but Mandy changed her mind and decided on the waterfront at the last minute. It was more work for me, but worth it. It was my first senior shoot down there. I chose two locations around the marina to start the session, then we wrapped-up on the other side near OMSI using the setting sunlight and the city lights as a backdrop. A huge thanks to my wife, Jenn, and my nephew, Eric, for their assitance!!!

Climb to Conquer Cancer

I donated my time to the American Cancer Society's Climb to Conquer Cancer event
http://community.acsevents.org/site/TR/CommunityFundraisingPages/CTCGreatWestDivision?fr_id=10420&pg=entry at Mt. Tabor park a couple of weeks ago. I photographed participants as they made it to the top. I look forward to shooting this event next year as well.

Tommy & Travis

I had a great time shooting this wedding down in Elkton a few weeks ago (yeah, I'm behind on my blogging!). It was held at the Butterfly Pavilion. This was an all outdoor event and the weather couldn't have been nicer. Big thanks to my wife, Jenn for assisting me as well as friend and fellow photographer, Angela Smith http://www.asmithphotography.com for shooting with me.

Jenna & Mike

I had fun with Jenna & Mike on this maternity shoot last night. She looks great and was easy to work with. I'm looking forward to meeting their baby girl in September. We did the session at their home. Their backyard is huge with several fruit trees and the inside of the house is really nice. I want them to come over and decorate my house!

In the Kitchen

Grandma came to town Monday. She never arrives empty handed. This visit is no exception. The chef costumes are awesome. The kids are having a great time in the kitchen.

Independence Weekend

After celebrating the fourth with grilled burgers and fireworks down at the neighbor's house, we were off to the coast for a family reunion. We stayed at Rockaway Beach over the weekend and had a great time. Jenn's aunt and uncle threw quite the shindig of a party in Giribaldi. Didn't get any pictures at the reunion, because for once, I was actually participating instead of hiding behind the camera! I did get some nice shots at the beach though. Can't wait to go back before summer's end.

Hungry?

The opportunity to do a commercial shoot came my way recently. I was hired to photograph food for Rose's Restaurant & Bakery http://www.eatatroses.com/. Since I eat there on a regular basis, I was already familiar with their yummy food and awesome desserts. They were great to work with. I really enjoyed the job so I hope to get more work like this!

Wedding

I shot a wedding recently near Salem with friend and fellow photographer , Angela Smith http://www.asmithphotography.com/ . I had a great time! Big thanks to Angela for letting me tag along.

Family Time

I've been working a lot lately, but took time out to relax at a local park with my family. Of course, since I had my photo gear handy, I couldn't pass-up the opportunity to shoot a family portrait. Ethan wasn't too excited about it.

PDX Strobist

I recently joined a photography group called PDX Strobist http://www.flickr.com/groups/pdxstrobist/ . They are a local version of David Hobby's inspiration http://strobist.blogspot.com/ . We met last month in St. Johns for a few hours and shot local models while sharing ideas and techniques. I'd like to thank Ashley, Pedro, Julie, and Xander for their patience and being so easy to work with.

At the Park

Wanna go to the park, Daddy? It must be summer! We are fortunate to live so close to a nice park. It's easy to capture Elaina smiling when she's on the swing.

Teen Portrait Session

Sydney was a great model and fun to work with. I'm really happy with the results from this shoot. She will be a Freeze Frame Senior rep at Forest Grove next year. It would be great if all of my Senior shoots went so well!

Company Takes Manhattan by Lakeridge High School

I usually do portraits, but got the opportunity recently to shoot something different in the form of a high school variety show dress rehearsal. The show was Company Takes Manhattan performed by the very talented Lakeridge High School Company in Lake Oswego.

Since this was new to me, I was pretty apprehensive going in, but ended up really enjoying it. Looking forward to shooting more events like this.
